In 1953, Cecil J. Drexler designed a premium line of
aluminum shower and tub enclosures that set a new
quality standard in the shower door industry.
Originally marketed and
sold through Sears, the doors where heavier and more
substantial than anything on the market, with larger
rollers and reinforced hinges, all at affordable prices.
Through word of mouth, the reputation for Drexler's
finely crafted and virtually "indestructible" shower
doors grew.
During the decades that followed,
the business expanded its product lines and became a
favorite glass supplier to many of Atlanta's most well
known custom homes builders and architects. The Drexler
Shower Door name was becoming synonymous with good
service, quality, and value.
As the popularity
of framed doors begin to wane in the early 80's, Joe
Drexler, Cecil's son, began to experiment with a
virtually unknown European frameless shower technology.
In 1984, the company installed its first frameless
shower door. Today, the company is at the forefront of
frameless shower door technology, offering more hardware
and glass varieties and options than anyone in the glass
industry. Drexler shower doors can be found in the
smallest bungalows and the largest estates and hotels.
The tradition of family owned excellence
continues. The business is run today as a partnership
between Joe Drexler, and his son David.
